Re: Membership applications

Facebook is currently causing problems because there seem to be several groups/communities/discussions evolving simultaneously and people are getting confused among multiple 'threads'. Ken

Re: Membership applications

Welcome back, Jerry. I understand that your application should have gone through by now - the forum makes a good back-up if our email link fails. As for the Bristol Channel, you have my respect! I assume you'll be sailing from the Axe and that Brean Down gives a bit of shelter. At least you won't ha...

Re-galvanising anchors

I am intending to have a couple of rusty anchors re-galvanised at the Eastleigh plant. However, the cost per kilogram will be less if I take along about half a dozen anchors in one batch. Re: Help Required: Sabre 27 Moonflower washed up at Warsash

I've now looked at Alan Hill's original Sabre drawing, a small copy of which is in the handbook. He drew the keel casting as seen on Moonflower, with a wide top splay recessed into the hull. Another drawing, undated and possibly by Marcon, refers to eight keel bolts, all stainless and 9 inches long,...

Re: Help Required: Sabre 27 Moonflower washed up at Warsash

For the record, I recently inspected the hull of 'Moonflower', which was rescued from Hamble foreshore and has been on dry land at Hythe SC. There is absolutely no sign of damage or disturbance to the fin keel anchorage. Mind you, the top of the cast iron keel splays to about 300mm wide where it fit...

Sabre wanted

We have been contacted by someone who would like to buy a Sabre 27, although he was put off the first one he inspected because it 'looked tired' (presumably scruffy and dirty). If anybody is aware of an owner who is considering selling a Sabre, please let us know.
