Dimensions for orig. mainsail / Sailmaker wanted

It's always handy to know where to turn when you need some help with the rigging - or the 30 year old Yanmar that needs a reconditioned alternator. If you've had a good experience with a supplier or craftsman, let us know who they are by posting their details here. Please start your post title with the general topic in capitals at the beginning. For example:

ENGINE - Yanmar spare parts
RIGGING - Sail laundry & repair
ENGINE - South coast mobile mechanic

Hi,

we need for our Sabre 27 a new mainsail, but first of all we need the original dimensions of the mainsail.

We are sailing our Sabre in the Netherlands with a mainsail, which looks not like the original mainsail and is now totally broken.

Does anyone know a good sailmaker who has the dimensions of the mainsail in his database ?

Regards

Martin

I bought a new mainsail from Kemps. They have been making sails for Sabres for years.

They did ask for confirmation of sizes however, as the mast and boom fitted seems to vary considerably.

Hi Martin,

Because with Sabres, there are so many different sizes of masts and booms and all their fittings, you must use your own boats measurements when buying a new sail!

The best way is to get your local sailmaker to visit your boat and measure her, himself.
