Re: Membership applications

How odd. The only Sabre 27 group I can find is https://www.facebook.com/groups/Sabre27 Can you point me at some of the others, and I'll join them too? I'm certainly blessed with several relevant groups for my Vagabond 47, which is covered by about 3-4 groups with users all over the world (most were ...

Re: Membership applications

It's all new to me, so I expect quite a learning curve. I'm planning to beef up the engine from the 1GM10 currently in there and am looking at the listings at http://www.marineenterprisesltd.co.uk/ who appear to have plenty on offer at around the 2 grand mark. Re: Deep cycle charging

If it were me, I'd do the controller first and then see if I need to change the alternator.

Re: Deep cycle charging

To an extent it will depend on the alternator you have fitted - my understanding is that an intelligent controller sucgh as those from Adverc or Sterling is usually the best starting point, to make the best use of what you have. I've still got the original alternator and controller on my Sabre's Yan...

Re: Sabre wanted

Sea Spear is still for sale but probably would meet the scruffy and tired description these days, although she is well-equipped and was seaworthy before being laid up.

Re: Skeg Bearing

Delrin is a trade name for acetal, which comes in grades approved for use with potable water. It should not swell by absorption. Personally, I'd stick with Tufnol.

Re: Replacement cockpit engine hatch

Rather than using a sealant, I bought some sponge sealing strip from Seals Direct and used around the engine hatch (which doesn't actually give access to much apart from the stern gland).
