Re: Spinnaker pole

Take a good long hard look at the photos. The ends (which can be bought separately, see link, are secured with pop rivets) It should be possible to drill them out and remove one end and associated fittings, shorten to the desired length and drill fresh holes and re-rivet. All you need is a power dri...

Re: Blocked sinks

I have no idea about showers, but my Galley sink has a seacock in line to the outlet, which is located on the waterline about midships. Mine is a mark 2 and frankly all of them are a bit different.

Re: Mainsheet system

Here is a picture of my mainsheet traveller (1975 Mark 2 boat), sorry that is the best I can find. It appears that a single fixing might be similar to a dinghy arrangement. Not ideal but practicable. The owners manual has a very short piece by Paul Howard on the location of port and starboard mainsh...

Re: Metal Window Trim

Thanks for the pictures, it makes matters clearer. The first picture shows the original format fitted by Marcon. The windows are of a 'cassette' style which incorporates the flashing or trim. You will note the stern-most window has a glazing bar, in fact, this is a sliding window (like a car). They ...

Re: Metal Window Trim

I am not aware the windows have a trim. Having taken mine out some years ago now, the trim is all part of the frame. Can you post a picture so we can get an idea of the problem you are facing please?

Re: Stubborn Cutlass bearing

CUTLAS BEARING AND PROP REPLACEMENT. So, they are all off, bearing replaced and time to re-install. Do you seal the cutlass bearing housing to the hull and if so with what? Do you use a release agent on the threaded bits securing it to the hull and do you add a release agent (Copperslip/White grease...

Re: Buck Dv10 whats the top cruising speed/engine dies

There is an article in the tech manual about an incident where the breather pipe was blocked by an insect lavae. It sounds like fuel starvation from your description. Quck test would be to unscrew filler cap on tank so she can breather, if it runs fine, looks like you have found the problem. Failing...

Re: New Sail Costs

Speak to Kemp. I spoke to all the others and frankly they are head and shoulders above the rest. My new Genoa has given me superlative performance, with pointing on a bilge keel beyond expectations. It has taught me how badly the existing rig is tuned, so that is my next point of focus. I also worke...
