Re: New Sail Costs

Speak to Kemp. I spoke to all the others and frankly they are head and shoulders above the rest. My new Genoa has given me superlative performance, with pointing on a bilge keel beyond expectations. It has taught me how badly the existing rig is tuned, so that is my next point of focus. I also worke...

Re: New Sail Costs

Hi, I replaced my genoa a couple of years ago and spoke to Kemp, Jeckells, Crusader, Hyde and Rolly Tasker. My first comments are that they will all be offering discounts at some point, especially when things start to bite just after Christmas. The big question is what you want from your sail. If yo...

Re: Floorboards on Sabre 27

Sadly, you have not told us if your boat is a Mk1 or Mk2? There is a PDF showing the fit out plans for a Mark 2 in the archive, but whilst the floorboard profiles are shown, none have any dimensions. if yours is a Mark 2, I can photograph mine and take some dimensions the next time I am there (altho...

Sealing Window Frames - Sealing tape?

Having read the article in the Manual under Windows, I am keen to use this technique. However, it appears Salford House Services in Kent have gone away (ceased trading?) as the phone is disconnected and there is no web site. I am not sure if John Sayer (author) is still a member or if anybody else i...

Re: Fridge

I cut into the vertical wall between cooker and sink to allow side a access when the dishes were above. There is about 2 inches of foam. I am happy to use it as a cool box keeping my Ale, bread and bottled water there. If your wife likes chilled white wine, it is not going to be much good beyond 24 ...

I think the answers to your question are in the Handbook, which is available to all new members. I have passed your request on to the Membership team who should be in contact soon.

Re: Spray hood - Cockpit tent

Ken Endean has submitted an excellent article in the technical manual on this subject, under Sprayhoods. Perhaps you have overlooked it?

Re: Headlining and side panels for Mark 2 on Samphire

1) The comments made by Ken regarding the Carpet are correct. The glue has failed on mine so I have decided it best to remove all of it, once I can get back to the boat. 2) The Blueprint needs to be approached with caution as my boat has an additional stiffener in the coach house roof, which renders...

Re: Headlining and side panels for Mark 2 on Samphire

Thanks Ken. I was fortunate enough to get to Samphire yesterday, beating the Tier 4 lockdown by 48 hours. I took a lot of the headlining down and saw the horrors below. Was condensation a big issue for your before you replaced the lining?
