Maybe NW if it was the right boat, transport to East Coast is how much?

That is the how long is a piece of string question, you need to get your ducks in a row first.
1) Where is the boat and does the yard have a crane that can lift it on to a vehicle - Cost?
2) Mast on or off. Obviously it will need to come off for transportation - Cost?
3) Do you have a yard at the destination port who will receive the boat and do they have craneage - Cost
4) Have you had a price to store the boat on the hard for the off season - Cost
5) New yard price to lift mast on and then put boat in the water at stat of new season - Cost
6) Alternatively is the boat good enough and safe enough to sail home (Cheapest option, but season is wrong)
7) Covid 19 - Can you get near it and will the Police and Yard let you travel to and go on site
8) Once you have the answers to the above, do a Google search for boat transportation specialists in your area or the area where the boat is stored. Ask for quotes, I am certain they will be quite keen to speak with you. If your Yard does not have adequate craneage, look for a transport company who have truck mounted cranes (Hiab or similar, noting they will have to lift better than 3.5 tonnes deadweight)
9) I note there is a post on the SOA Facebook page about a move to Windermere, so you might wan to ask them how they got on and what issues they had
10) Put a post on 'Sailing and cruising' FB page (Join if you haven't already) and ask for advice, contacts etc.
11) At some point look at the boat spec, talk to the owner and arrange to go and look at her, preferably with somebody who knows what they are looking at.
12) Agree price, subject to survey.
13) SIMPLES!

That's all good advice and you're right - adds up!

1~5 can be avoided buying locally to where I plan to use it from. From another post on PBO forum there's someone looking for a skipper to sail an unknown condition Snapdragon around Lands End in the winter, many pages of folk telling him bad idea and to transport it - figures between £1-2k for that option. With my budget not sensible.
6 ~ Even in good weather going long distance in an unknown boat is a bad idea.
7 ~ Covid is ever changing, would not surprise me to see a national lockdown soon.

In general thank you for the good advice, my late father got me into sailing as a kid - no one else around me including other half is remotely interested so good to make some contacts and friends who are!

I paid £600 to have Sea Spear transported from Plymouth to Weston-super-Mare and £200 for the crane to unload. Cash in hand deal.

Not too shabby but going on your 100 odd miles for £600 spuds Samphire was talking about North West UK. NW to South East coast is three times the distance.

What sort of jet wash do you need for boats as a rule? Asking as you mentioned your clean. Through my work I’ve got three! Last one (petrol on a wheelbarrow set up) can shred a pallet plank up, steel toe wellies a must have!

Just an ordinary Vax branded domestic one, but with a vicious rotating nozzle, which says "Do not use on Vehicles"
