Hi

How many of you have permanently attached boarding ladders?
How many steps?
How is the ladder mounted?
Where is your ladder?

We had a ladder mounted at the port side of the cockpit, which only just reached the waterline. I can't see much point in a ladder unless at least one, preferably 2 steps are below the waterline. What do you think?

Edit.

Another question, how many people actually use their ladders?

Any photos. or details of what ladders are best would really help.

Kind Regards

Ian

Dear Ian

We have a removable, rigid aluminium but foldable one that hangs from the toerail. A long one that goes right under water, so you can get out of the water, rather like in a swimming pool.

Works for us.

And you can use it in the middle of the boat, where the rise and fall is minimised, rather than at the stern, where you have problems with the double skin of a Sabre and the rise and fall as above.

Works for us. And low cost too.

Thanks for the reply, which ladder do you have?

Does it have mounting plates on deck?

Thanks

Ian

Azul has one mounted in the center of the transom, its fitted over the bulwark and to the transom, its the type that folds in half, from memory it has six steps, easily reaches the water.
