I am currently fitting an emergency forestay to Ocean Arriette.I want to secure it to the deck as far forward as possible.I would like any advice as to getting the strongest fixing. Mark Prichard

Tony Mynett's solution (in the Handbook) is pretty robust for an inner forestay. Alternatively, the anchor locker bulkhead could provide a suitable below-deck anchorage for a through-deck strap (or bolt and bracket) but it would be advisable to check on the glassing-in around that bulkhead, and it might need extra strength across the top of the internal access hatch. Any further forward and you would probably want to fit an under-deck spreader.
