have any members had any dealings with ofcom
today the 22nd of april i received a letter imforming me that ofcom had withdrawn my dsc radio licence because they had duplicated the mmsi number with another vessel
members should be aware that ofcom expect he owner (me)to get my radio reprogramed .after an hour on the phone they in there wisdom admitted there mistake and have offered to reimburse me the monies spent in doing so
the moral of this story is beware of ofcom because there abunch of morons ofcom have issued me with a new licence and callsign and have grudgingly said sorry but thats not the point how can a goverment agency get it so wrong

managed to get the dsc number sorted at a price spent a frustrating hour reprograming the box now to send ofcom the bill they caused the problem they pay

This has apparently been a problem which has been going on for a while and has been discussed in the YBW forums since last year, the below thread may explain what's happened to you:-

thanks for the imfo allyneil it seems that im not the only one with this problem i think ofcom need to have a rethink on how they issue callsigns and numbers because this could meen lives at risk
im sending them the bill tomorrow so hopefully they will pay for the mistake that they caused
