Blocked sinks

It's always handy to know where to turn when you need some help with the rigging - or the 30 year old Yanmar that needs a reconditioned alternator. If you've had a good experience with a supplier or craftsman, let us know who they are by posting their details here. Please start your post title with the general topic in capitals at the beginning. For example:

ENGINE - Yanmar spare parts
RIGGING - Sail laundry & repair
ENGINE - South coast mobile mechanic

Blocked sinks

Post by Moonlight »

This may sound stupid but I have a blocked galley sink and blocked shower drain. Now I know they drain under the waterline so do they have some kind of non return valve fitted or can I put a plumbers corkscrew down it?
All other solutions welcome !!

I have no idea about showers, but my Galley sink has a seacock in line to the outlet, which is located on the waterline about midships. Mine is a mark 2 and frankly all of them are a bit different.
