Ballast ratio

Ballast ratio

Hi I’ve recently read an article stating that the ballast ratio drops from 40% on a fin keel to 35% on a bilge keel sabre 27.
I find this hard to believe however does anyone know the actual facts?

I will leave the answer to this for Committee members better qualified than me. All I can say with some authority, is, that despite my very best efforts in some fairly adverse conditions, I have never managed to get my Bilge Keeler to put her rail under water.

And i can say that I have put our fin keelers rail under quite a few times. Thats when she is telling you to put a reef in!
