Has anyone fitted one? (folding or feathering)
Was it worth the expense?
Was sailing performance improved?
Was motoring performance affected positively or negativley?
Ta!

|Hi Iain,
I saw your post on YBW re this folding prop.
Parvus has one fitted by previous owner and his notes from when he bought it are still in the handbook I got on purchase of boat.
The prop is 2 blade folding and from memory is 13 x8 and a half. I know this doesn.t help you as you will have a bigger engine, but the cost 5 years ago for the prop was 290 plus vat. Personally I would always fit a folding prop for a sailing boat- the benefits outweigh the wee downsides.
Main downsides- stopping power and efficency in astern reduced- guess 20%
To be honest don't know about increase/decrease in performance whilst going ahead as I have no knowledge of what she was like with fixed prop but I can't imagine that it would be better. Sailing speed increase is the main advantage.
If you wish I can post the company name which supplied the prop. Can't now as info at home.
Regards
Jerry
