Main winch replacement

I have a Mark 1 and would like to replace the original genoa sheet Gibb winches with a fixed handle at the bottom

Any suggestions?

I bought a pair of Lewmar 40s of eBay. They have transformed sailing to windward. To allow for full rotation of the top winch handle I have added zip up letter boxes in the dodgers, an idea that I stole from a Vancouver34

I have also just bought two of the old non self tailing Lewmar 40 to replace the original Gibbs

I look forward to fitting them in.

Any suggestions for fitting the winches?

Great idea of the zipper on the dodger to allow full rotation of the handle.

Do you know what size of Winchers are needed to make the Lewmar 40 self tailing ?
