Lazy Jacks
Could anyone recommend details of a lazy jack system that has worked well for you on the standard Sabre 27 mast and boom? Are the very much "off the shelf" or is there quite a bit of DIY involved?
The Sabre 27 Forum was an incredibly useful resource for members and enthusiasts alike. Unfortunately due to relentless hackers constantly compromising the system, it had to be taken down in 2025. We have since collated all of the discussions and images into this searchable archive. Whilst new posts can’t be added, all of the useful discussions remain. Live discussion can be found on the Sabre 27 Facebook page.
Explore discussions from the former Sabre 27 Owners Association forum. This is a read-only archive; historic advice, contact details and external links may be out of date.

I've been thinking of trying to buy a Sabre. One I looked at recently seemed to have a surprising (to me) amount of lateral flex in the skeg - but I've nothing to compare it to. There were no cracks where the skeg meets the hull and the boat hadn't been recent
Any advice greatly appreciated on the keel. It has been cleaned off and re-antifouled but on re-inspection after a month in the water rust is prevalent through the antifoul. Picture titled "Keel January 2023", the first time it had been out of the water for a

Has anyone had any experience of Directsails? Given the cost of the boat for a main sail the quote was £450-£650 a 'cruising' sail. Another quote from the UK was almost 3 times this and one has to practical. Many thanks in advance Charles Cupar O' Fife
Has anybody any thoughts as to the 'rip out' loads for the main anchor bollard and the forward cleats. Given the Sabre can weigh 3.5 tonnes plus, I am guessing they will not be insignificant? Is there a formula, perhaps, that might help? Thoughts please?

Hi Has anyone had experience of converting their cool box on mark 2 sabre? Our cool box is between cooker and sink, is there foam behind the grp, is it enough? Thanks
Having bought moonlight last November I am trying to get her ready for the season. I do not have a mainsheet track or a block system. There is a d ring bolted to cockpit floor and the broker says this is where it’s tied off! Anyone else got this setup and can
