Hi,
I have a Stuart sea cock which is leaking around the valve shaft,it's a three bolt fitting and includes a filter.
Has anyone had this problem or may be knows where I could find a replacement?

Hi,
I think i have the same seacock and did have the same problem.
The seacock is in 3 parts so i managed to unscrew the valve part and replace it with another standard seacock valve.
Hope this helps

The Stuart Turner cock is no longer manufactured, more's the pity.
You can remove the 'cone and handle' and lap it in using grinding paste if you are that way inclined. It will take a while but will give a few more years of life. Clean up well when you are satisfied with the finish and smear with 'seacock grease' prior to reassembly.
Cheers,
Paul Howard. S27OA Technical Officer.

[Thanks Paul, I think that's my first port of call and if all else fails try for the replacement as Mike suggests.

Hi
We have exactly the same problem, unless we leave the handle in exactly the right place a slow trickle of water comes past. We managed to find a 2nd hand replacement by advertising on the YBW forums and are hoping it will be better, certainly looks in much better condition. But we won't know until next spring as she's still in the water and this is not soemthing I fancy doing between tides!

Like you,no way between tides!! Fortunately Sea Sharp is coming out this week so I have time on my side and will take the sea cock apart to see what can be done.

When HUZZAH had this problem, it was a very simple job to remove the whole "shebang", fill the hole and put in a new, modern valve (nicer action, and trustworthy etc) in a more convenient position.
The cost of filling the old hole, even if done professionally, would, I suggest, not be huge, so might be another solution?
Cheers
